Rather than focus on temporary comfort, you can benefit from Chinese medicine that determines which organ system in your body is affecting you because it’s out of balance.
What Is Acupuncture for Aurora (IL)?
Acupuncture by A Touch of Ginger contributes to an enhanced quality of life for Aurora residents of any age from infants to seniors.
Our acupuncture uses very fine needles on the skin’s surface to stimulate specific acupuncture points (acupoints) on the body. This stimulation frees the movement of blocked qi (pronounced chee) in your body.
Qi is the Chinese concept of the life force or energy that animates your body, mind and spirit. It courses through your body’s pathways with start and end points on the head, hands and feet. When your qi is plentiful and moving in harmony with properly functioning organs, you experience greater well-being.
Disruptive factors such as disease, pathogens and physical or emotional trauma can interrupt and unsettle the flow of your qi. When it is blocked and your organs become imbalanced, your body will release distress signals that call for attention.
Acupuncture releases and restores your qi by stimulating the acupoints related to your ailment. With your qi no longer blocked, it can help you once again enjoy and maintain your health.
What Is Community Acupuncture for Aurora (IL)?
Community acupuncture by A Touch of Ginger affordably offers Aurora residents the benefits of basic acupuncture treatments in a group setting. Our Aurora acupuncture facility accommodates up to six patients.
During community acupuncture, you and up to five other people receive your ailment-specific acupuncture in zero-gravity chairs in an open room designed for comfort and relaxation.
If you’re a new patient or you haven’t received acupuncture with us in the last six months, your community acupuncture will begin with a private 90-minute consultation to assess your current health and define your diagnosis according to Chinese medicine.
If you are an active patient at A Touch of Ginger, you can transition directly to community acupuncture without a beginning consultation.
Community Acupuncture for Aurora (IL): What to Expect
Each community acupuncture session will start with a brief review of your symptoms. Your acupuncturist will follow the updates by inserting your specific needles. You will then rest with them for about 30 to 40 minutes.
Because the acupuncture points are limited to the head, neck, arms, hands, feet and lower legs, patients remain fully clothed during community acupuncture. Your acupuncture as performed by our certified, licensed practitioners is safe and sanitary.
Although you will share a room with others, the zero-gravity chairs are sufficiently spaced from one another. You likely will not hear much noise or talking from the other treatments around you. We also include soft music and a white-noise machine to further soothe and relax you.
When your community session concludes, your acupuncturist will remove your needles and you will be free to go until your next visit.
Community Acupuncture for Aurora (IL): Different from Private
The main differences between community and private acupuncture are the cost and extent of treatment.
Community acupuncture treatments are about 50% the cost of private sessions, making acupuncture care more affordable for many patients.
Community treatments focus solely on main symptom(s) as determined by the initial consultation. They do not include other modalities such as cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, heat-lamp therapy or herbal medicine.
At the acupuncturist’s discretion, a patient may require reevaluation in a private-treatment setting because of changes in their medical history.
Community Acupuncture for Aurora (IL): More Advantages
Acupuncture in our community setting offers meaningful benefits beyond affordability. It also:
emulates how acupuncture is traditionally practiced – and was originally intended – in many Asian countries.
lets you receive acupuncture with family and friends; this shared experience can establish an energetic field that makes the treatments even more powerful.
proactively reduces stress and pain in a calming environment (no prescriptions or invasive procedures).
According to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, an analysis of data from 20 studies (6,376 participants) of people with painful conditions (back pain, osteoarthritis, neck pain, headaches) showed that the beneficial effects of acupuncture continued for a year after the end of treatment for almost all conditions.
