Menstrual Cycle
If you are thinking about starting a family with your partner, there are some important things that are going to need your attention first. In Chinese Medicine, one major key to fertility is a balanced menstrual cycle. Along with your menstrual cycle, your reproductive history, history of pharmaceuticals used (including birth control) and your health history also are going to play important roles in fertility.
The menstrual cycle is complex and controlled by many different glands that secrete hormones. The menstrual cycle has four phases, which include menstruation, the follicular phase, ovulation and the luteal phase. If there is imbalance in one or more of these phases, it can cause issues for someone trying to conceive. Through acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, the entire menstrual cycle can be regulated.
Other Factors
There are many other factors that could affect fertility including cysts; fibroids; PCOS; painful or heavy periods; the chronic use of birth control; hormonal imbalances; health conditions, such as auto-immune or gastrointestinal conditions; psycho-emotional conditions; and more. Diet and lifestyle also can affect fertility. For example, dairy and gluten are known inflammatory foods that can cause inflammation throughout the body, including the pelvic area.
The conditions listed above, diet and lifestyle all need to be addressed and properly treated with acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in a safe and efficient manner so the chances of successfully conceiving and carrying the baby to full term are higher.
IVF, IUI, Fertility Drug Therapy and Embryo Transfer Support
If you are thinking about or already are going through IVF, IUI, fertility drug therapy or an embryo transfer, A Touch of Ginger (ATOG) can assist you throughout your fertility treatments. Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine continuously have excelled in helping women as they go through these traditional Western medical treatments by supporting the body’s blood and Qi, or energy flow, while also addressing any symptoms that come up along the journey, such as injection site pain, fatigue, sleep issues, emotional imbalances and more.
ATOG looks at the whole picture of your health during your fertility journey to ensure you are supported in a way that is best for you and your body. ATOG can help you adjust to the changes your body is going through, cope with stress that comes along with it and increase the chances of a successful pregnancy. And remember, this healing process is not only beneficial for fertility purposes, but also for women’s overall health.
Let ATOG help you achieve your goals while feeling supported and healthy.
